Women in Business MBA Scholarship

By Chartered One

The UK is becoming increasingly aware of the need to encourage more women to get involved in the business world.

While the number of women taking the leap into setting up their own business is undoubtedly increasing, government statistics suggest that if UK women were starting businesses at the same rate as men, we would have one million more companies in the country.

Additionally, in December 2015 it was revealed that only 10% of executive directors at FTSE 100 companies are female.

This needs to change.

At Manchester Metropolitan University, we want to play our part in giving ambitious women the chance to achieve their business goals. Our Women in Business Scholarship will give two female students the opportunity to win a discount on their MBA course fees and take the first step on their leadership journey.

What does the scholarship offer?

The scholarship awards one winner with a £6,000 discount on their course fees, while one runner-up receives £3,000 off their fees.

Both will join our MBA programme in October 2016. There is plenty of information on the course structure throughout our site, as well as stories from our successful alumni, which will give you an idea of what to expect from your time with Manchester Met.

How to enter

Full details of the competition will be revealed on this page on May 23rd 2016. The competition will ask for an online submission, to be completed by July 15th 2016.

This competition is open to all candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria for our MBA programme. We also have a Women in Business Scholarship available for female candidates. Please see our terms and conditions before applying.

Choosing the winners

We will select 10 submissions for our final shortlist, which will then be judged by our panel of business experts. All shortlisted entrants will be invited to a special presentation evening at the Business School on Wednesday 27th July 2016, where the winner and runner-up will be announced.

If you have any questions about this scholarship, contact Donna Ward on, or call her on 0161 247 6078.
